I haven't been brewing much lately. Mostly because my beer cellar is full. I have 10 cases of bottles and they are all mostly full. If I collected all of my empties, I would have almost a case. So, I would estimate my current beer stock at 9 cases. I am going to brew a cream stout and a pale ale next. It will probably happen next week, depending on when my supply shipment gets here. My current stock does not include a pale ale or enough stout.
I prefer American Pale Ales (nicely hopped with Cascade hops) over anything. I now regret branching out in the recipe realm. I should do a pale ale every third batch. I've done about 7 batches since my last pale ale. The beer I've done has all been good, but I miss pale ale.
If you need someone to help you drink all that beer...
ReplyDeleteI'll second that...
ReplyDeleteI also second the sentiment about American Pale Ale. Of the more heavily hopped ales, I prefer ESBs just a bit more than APAs and those a bit more than IPAs, but I do love the American brews.
I've never been able to detect the difference between East Coast APAs and West Coast APAs, but BeerAdvocate claims (or at least claimed) that there was a difference. *shrugs*
I usually give a lot of it away. Especially if it's good. Which, now that I think about it, is foolish. Giving away my good beer gives me less good beer to drink and more bad beer (though 'bad' is a relative term). Oh well, I'll just brew some more.
ReplyDeleteI love a good pale ale with cascade, but I have been enjoying Chinook's piney resinous qualities and and the ultra-grapefruit of Centennials, and most reciently Columbus.
ReplyDeleteIf you haven't before, give those a try, when you have a chance.
