Final exams are in full swing. My blog silence may continue for a bit. I plan on actually getting back to some chemistry of brewing when things slow down. Until then, you can enjoy one of my baby pictures.
I've never tasted the "banana" variety. Do they even make that version? From what I understand, the "banana beer" was a Belgian Ale that they made very early on. Eventually, they refined their recipes to today's beers.
A blog about Homebrew and about Chemistry. Why? Because that's what I like. Homebrew and Chemistry. Sometimes the chemistry is about homebrew and sometimes it's not.
I am a homebrewer. I only do extract and partial mash brewing (right now). I prefer stouts and american pale ales. I am also a chemist. I teach college chemistry. I prefer organic chemistry and biochemistry.

Indeed Heineken is a real family company. I was not aware that they are really born into the company in this way.
I have a question about your Red Hook ESB clone.
Is it the original "banana" beer clone, or a later variety?
The current version of ESB.
