Grades and Basketball

I finished grading, and I just submitted my grades through the world wide web to my institution's computerized grade collector. It's good to be done.

As a special treat, I am watching basketball on the telly. I'm watching Minnesota compete against the Louisville Cardinals. I'm glad I can use the word 'compete' as it has been a long time since a Gopher team has been able to compete with a top ten team. I fully expect the current Minnesota lead to evaporate. Louisville is too good, but Minnesota actually has a chance to win.

The Blizzard of '08 is winding up nicely. We've had about 6 inches of snow and it is blowing around nicely. In Minnesota snow always falls at a 45° or more angle. Today that angle is about 85° from perpendicular.

Exciting matchup! I hope Pitino's team gets crushed. (He's not well liked around here.)

I'm glad you got your grades done too! I've already heard from a whiny student about grades. Less that 24 h after submitting them.

I hope you have a relaxing vacation.

Ok, so the greatest myth in teaching is the In-service days. I swear, i thought those were the days that teachers got to write lesson plans, grade papers, enter grades, etc. NO!! It's a day from hell where the principal gets to make you sit through training on identifying "gifted & talented" kids.....when you work in the Discipline Alternative Educational Program for the school district. I didn't learn much about "G&T" students, but I did learn the definition of IRONY!!!

P.s. I am feeling you on the grades. It took me two days to update & "edit" grades.

Have a relaxing Christmas Break

I should have explained that for our Indiana fans.

It is a tough time to be a Hoosier. I feel your pain.
