Time is valuable

If you have read this blog before, you know I like to complain about how little time I have and how busy I am. Well, that's what all bloggers talk about at one time or another, but for me it is different.

I sat down tonight and listed all of the tasks I need to finish in the next few days. Here is a partial list of things I am trying to fit into my busy schedule in no particular order:

Read the last third of Harry Potter #1
Watch the last four episodes of The Office: Season three
Listen to Beethoven's 6th or 7th symphony while following along with the score
Rack my Metathesis Ale to the secondary
Prepare for my Friday lectures
Optimize conditions for the SPME analysis of peppermint candies for my instrumental analysis class
Buy and XBox and play Halo 'til my fingers bleed
Pull everything out of my garden
Mow my lawn
Finish the trim in my basement

As you can see, I really need to prioritize and get to work.

For tonight, I think I will drink some Boston Lager clone, fold clothes and watch the rest of The Office: Season three. While, ignoring the things I really should be doing.

mjenks,

I know what you are going to say, "Read the Harry Potter." I promise I will finish it tomorrow. :)

Hey, why don't we trade to-do lists? Like, I'll read Harry Potter and watch The Office while you do my inorganic lab report (ick!) and prepare my slides for group meeting? I'll even mow your lawn if you'll clean my kitchen. ;)

Good God, you must be joking!!! Anything other than inorganic and it would be a deal. The only C I ever got (a C+ BTW) was in inorganic. I never really understood inorganic until grad school. Tanabe-Sugano diagrams? WTF?!?!?

I'd offer to help you out, but I have a lot of whining about Notre Dame and the Cubs to get done.

Not to mention make excuses as to why my purifications didn't work this time.

All while getting a healthy amount of dread built up for the imminent arrival of my mother-in-law.

However, I think I'm going to make a list like this of my own later. I feel inspired. :D

chemgeek,

Don't for to add whining about the Twins not making the post season! (insert Gophers, Huskers, ViQueens, Wild, Timberpuppies, etc... as needed)

Meanwhile, I will be (hopefully) enjoying the post season warm-up for the sox this weekend.

tnj,

Weren't the Red Sox up by about 45 games at one point? A bit of a slide I would say.

As long as they beat up on the Evil Empire, I'll be happy. And I assume you will be even happier.

that's not very reassuring!

I thought I was the resident whiner about sports teams not doing well.

Your to do list looks vaguely similar to mine. And here I am blogging and not taking any notice of the urgent phone calls I have to make.

After lunch, maybe!
