As I sit here getting a bit loopy from the toluene and methyl ethyl ketone fumes from the contact cement I am using to attach the oak veneer to my bar top, all I can think of is: shouldn't palindrome be spelled 'palinilap?'
So...some guy just came by and put down new thresholds between the offices and the labs here. I'm sucking toluene and methyl ethyl ketone vapors, myself.
I actually...honestly...just wrote down the name of the stuff the guy used to adhere the thresholds to the floor and then hurried over here to tell you about it. But, it seems, I'm too late.
And, yeah, it was Dap's contact cement...woodhold or something like that.
Excellent. Thanks for the tip. Even if it's a little late it's still a good tip. I inquired with a construction friend of mine and he suggested the contact cement. This is cool stuff and very unforgiving. Once it sticks, it stick.
It that stuff a stronger version of Gorilla Glue? I have a tile that has come up in the bathroom and I need to glue it back down. The only thing I have in my small (and yes, it's pink colored) tool box is Gorilla Glue. So help me Obe-One-Home-Depote, can I use it to fix it? (please remember I did not inherit the Home Depot/Lowes gene.)
Oh yeah, and that cat looks pisssssssseeeeeeddddd!!
I love Gorilla Glue. Check the bottle first, but I suspect it would be perfect to reattach a tile. I would use it. Just be sure to not use too much. The excess will bubble out from under the tile and make a icky mess.
I have also used Powergrab from Loctite to attach a loose tile.
A blog about Homebrew and about Chemistry. Why? Because that's what I like. Homebrew and Chemistry. Sometimes the chemistry is about homebrew and sometimes it's not.
I am a homebrewer. I only do extract and partial mash brewing (right now). I prefer stouts and american pale ales. I am also a chemist. I teach college chemistry. I prefer organic chemistry and biochemistry.
