Dear beer enthusiasts,Should I spend $1000+ of my faculty development money to attend a chemistry conference near a hot bed of craft breweries and brewpubs?

Boulder sounds fun...
Boulder and yes. :)
Were you at the last NOS?
And, if you were, why didn't you, um, mention it?
And, I see through your clever ruse. Enjoy swimming in a vat of Fat Tire.
Matt: I was not at the last NOS. The last one I attended was in Bozeman back in 2002 (or was it 2001). I was on crutches after having severed two tendons in my ankle with a hatchet. It was all kinds of non-fun.
Oh, and the idea of swimming in a vat of Fat Tire has created such glorious images in my head.
Oh, see, I missed the one in Bozeman because my wife was about to burst forth with child. My advisor was going to pay for our admission and our hotels, we just had to pay for the transportation out there.
And...suddenly I'm upset that I volunteered to give a poster at the ACS meeting in Washington this fall.
Oh, and it would have been 2001, since that's when my daughter was born.

wow top blogger where do i sgin pup to b part of big thing you are doing
I would approve that expense. I can totally rationalize your needing to attend the NOS and compare your brewing techniques to those of other quality brewers (all chemistry based research, I am sure).
And yeah, top blogger is a douchbag.
I am want to convince my boss to pay for me to go and as a fellow home brewer beer was my motivation. I hear there are some good talks too..
trans: The NOS (as usual) is a who's who of the who's who in Organic Chemistry. I peed myself a little when I say the schedule.
